Biography
I was born and raised
in Southern California. Graduated from high school in early 1943 and
went into the U.S. Marine Corps. Served for a time in the OSS before
joining the 2nd Marine Division at Saipan. During the Battle of Okinawa,
was a BARman. Just prior to VJ Day, assigned to S-2 battalion intelligence
and took part in the original occupation of Japan at Nagasaki for the
first year of the occupation. Visited most of the major cities of Japan,
including Hiroshima and Tokyo.
Upon discharge worked
at various jobs including one year as a police officer at Avalon, Catalina
Island. Attended college for one year.
When the Korean
War broke out, was recalled to active duty with the 1st Marine Division.
Took part in the fighting as a rifle-squad leader from the Inchon Landing,
September, 1950, until the end of "Operation Killer," April,
1951.
Was released from active duty with a Purple Heart and a desire to teach
school. Went back to college, got married, had 4 children, received
my BA and a teaching credential. Taught school for 30plus years, and
wrote a civics workbook President Eisenhower placed in his Presidential
Library in Abilene, KS.
Retired in 1986
and began a series of short-term lay-missionary trips to Central America
[4], Russia [2], and one each to Israel and Korea. For 5 years I worked
as a movie/TV extra.
I have been on earth
79 years and on the computer/internet 9 years. I think a lot and write
a little. Still hope to influence the WWW 'student body 'to choose Y'shua
Jesus TODAY - for in Him is Liberty. Recently, was involved in a prison
ministry out of a local church. Presently live in Santa Maria, CA.
P.S. The Lord revealed
Himself to me during the 1950 fighting in Korea. I have been His Marine
ever since. Praise the Lord! Psalm 91
